In 2009, Ann founded Penners Bergen, A Law Corporation (“Penners Bergen, ALC”) focused on commercial debt collection, accounts receivable management and business litigation. She strongly believes that entrepreneurs and business owners shouldn’t have to spend their time pursuing clients or customers trying to collect payments they are due. Ann and her team take aggressive steps to help get their clients get paid.
As a commercial collections lawyer, Ann Penners Bergen has represented clients in a wide variety of collection matters, including assisting with accounts receivable processes, drafting effective invoices, contracts and purchase orders, collecting monies due without filing a lawsuit, obtaining prejudgment relief for clients, including prejudgment writs of attachment, successfully bringing breach of contract lawsuits and collecting on judgments obtained by clients, other law firms or in foreign or other states.
As a business litigator since 1993, Ann Penners Bergen has represented clients in a variety of business disputes, including partnership dissolutions, breach of contract claims, fraud claims and negligence claims. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and has taken several matters all the way through trial or arbitration. She is experienced with civil litigation in both state and federal courts, mediation and arbitration.
She has worked for local firms such as Krane & Smith and Rintala, Smoot, Jaenicke & Rees, as well as the California firm Crosby Heafey (now Reed Smith) and national and international firms Bingham McCutchen and Chadbourne & Parke LLP.
A child of immigrants from the Netherlands, Ann learned the value of commitment and passion from her parents. Like her father, Ann has a passion for her work and, like her mother, she is committed to helping people, in Ann’s case, by helping business owners grow their businesses to the next level and ensuring that they are paid for their labors.
When not working for her clients, Ann is busy with her two rescue mutts, her husband and her twin daughters.
